Japanese afternoon tea
Alba redefines the traditional afternoon tea with a contemporary expression, blending traditional flavours from Asia with classic Western culinary techniques.
Inspired by a Japanese sunset, ‘Yūgure’, this Afternoon Tea concept reflects the poetic calmness of a Yūgure and offers a serene dining moment, rooted in contemporary pan-asian cuisine and presentation. Designed for parties of two or more, Alba’s Afternoon Tea will invite guests to indulge in delicate sweet and savoury bites thoughtfully crafted by Group Executive Chef Vladimir Chistyakov.
The menu includes refined, elegant and whimsical treats; a Sweets Tower, the Geisha selection, with mochis, mini pancakes, tiramisu, Alba snickers, Halva Cookies and a sweet handroll; alongside a Sweet and Savoury Tower, the Samurai selection, with Hamachi and salmon tostadas, mini wagyu sando, tamago sando and a Wagyu onigiri.
Following the tea service, guests are offered to try a showstopping ‘Kakigori’, a rarely seen traditional Japanese dessert with shaved ice, delicately flavoured with sweet syrup and condensed milk, refreshingly light and airy. The flavours includes; Tropical Breeze with Mango and coconut cream; Matcha Garden with matcha, watermelon, and strawberry; Caramel Mist with creamy dulce de leche and crumble.
As part of Alba’s general offering, the Asian Tea Oasis offers a curated range of rare teas along with ceremonial matcha. Guests can also choose to pair their tea with bespoke, elegant mocktails, many inspired by Asian wildlife and crafted with vibrant, botanical ingredients.
